Let me take this opportunity to commend my Chair and the entire Committee for the wonderful job we did to get to the point of appointing an auditor of the Auditor-General. It sounds funny that the Auditor-General has to be audited, but it sends a very clear message that nobody is above the law. Whatever funds allocated from public coffers must be accounted for. The people of Kenya must be told the amount of money allocated and how much was used and how it was used. We must also make sure that there are adequate safeguards to ensure that there is no loss of public funds."
