"content": "The effort by the National Council of Persons with Disabilities to the company was futile and it never bore fruits. I was jobless and I could not afford to hire a lawyer. Therefore, any attempt on this case has never been mentioned in any court in Kenya. My humble submission to my employer and my willingness to work was a sign of my cooperation to the company management for them to consider my compensation. However, to my rude shock, the Company Director, Mr. Bimal Shah, dismissed my request with a ridicule, ‘ enda kule nje, niko na pesa. Tutakutania huko.’ What else could I do? I am a helpless poor Kenyan with disability and no job. I have made the best effort to have this matter addressed by the relevant authority of which all have proved unsuccessful. None of the issues in this Petition is pending in any court of law. Wherefore, your humble petitioner prays that the Senate- (1) By your able power and wisdom, compels Broadways Kenya to compensate me for the disability and unlawful termination. Petition to the Senate by Daniel Matendechere concerning unfair dismissal and lack of compensation. Mr. Matendechere signed the Petition on 8th September, 2021. There are other people who have undersigned. We have Daniel Matendechere, Harrison Musonye, Rev. Kitanzi Eric and Rev. John Lugongo. They have included their identity card numbers. I have also countersigned because I am a Senator representing persons with disabilities in this Republic. Mr. Speaker, Sir, I do not know if you will allow me to make my comments."
