Speaker, I rise to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife the following Question:- (i) What steps has the Ministry taken to stop hippopotamuses from straying into farms and homes near Lake Olbolosat in Oljororok and Ndaragwa Constituencies in Nyandarua County, terrorising the area residents and destroying crops and livestock around the lake? (ii) When will the victims of human/wildlife conflict in Nyandarua County, who lodged claims for compensation as far back as 2013, get compensation; particularly those who have suffered injuries and farmers who have lost crops and livestock due to attacks by hippopotamuses?"
