    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, Standing Order No. 21(21) (a) provides that the Chairperson of the Committee may make a Statement relating to a matter for which the Committee is responsible. I wish to make a Statement on the substantial increase of fuel by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) on 15th September, 2021. Mr. Speaker, Sir, my Committee has held a series of meetings with the two Cabinet Secretaries in trying to mitigate the cost of fuel and electricity. This increase of fuel prices has had a ripple effect on the economy and has subsequently increased the cost of living and cost of doing business significantly on already burdened citizenry."
