Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move: THAT, Clause 16 of the Bill be amended in paragraph (a) by deleting the proposed new sub-paragraph (c) and substituting therefor the following new subparagraph— “(c) be removed from office by the Cabinet Secretary if the member— (i) contravenes the provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution; or (ii) acts in contravention of codes, policies and procedures in the public service. The amendment seeks to amend Paragraph 2 of the Schedule to provide additional ways for members to be removed from the board. A member may be removed from office by the Cabinet Secretary with justification if a member conducts himself in a manner that puts the organization in jeopardy. The Committee notes that this provision is ambiguous because it does not give a clear way of removing what is undesirable.
