"content": " Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I also want to support the Petitioner. Political violence is indeed totally unacceptable. Hon. Deputy Speaker, thank you for allowing me because you know the recipients of political violence in most cases are women. I speak as a victim. In 2017, two days to the party nominations, some militia believed to be supported by some of my opponents drove away my 600 goats, which I have not recovered to date. Hon. Deputy Speaker, you know that my goats do not vote. So, I do not know why they took them. Then four days to the general elections, I lost 300 cows – which I have also not recovered to date. This kind of violence is meant to intimidate the person who is vying. Again, in the run-up to the next general election, especially now, violence is already happening in Laikipia North, where houses are actually being burnt down. I would like to support the Petitioner. There is a security agency that is mandated to take care of the lives and properties of Kenyans. When The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
