I beg to move: THAT, Clause 6 of the Bill be amended in the proposed new section 10 by deleting subsection (1) and substituting therefor the following new subsection— (1) There shall be a Chief Executive Officer of the Fund who shall be appointed by the Board, through a competitive process, on such terms and conditions as the Board may, with the advice of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission, determine. Hon. Chairman, let me just draw attention of Members to what I am doing. If you go to the Bill in Clause 10 (1), itl states that there shall be a CEO whose terms and conditions of service shall be determined by the board in consultation with the relevant Government agencies. That is the bit that Hon. Omboko wanted to amend. What I am amending is to say that there shall be a CEO of the Fund, who shall be appointed by the board, therefore qualifying that the appointment will be done by the board.
