    "content": "(b) The Ministry’s target is to have at least, a sub-district hospital in every constituency. It costs about Kshs700 million to put up a standard hospital. During the Budget preparation process for 2009/2010 financial year, the Ministry requested Treasury for funds to construct 42 new hospitals, one of which was proposed for Marsabit North District, at Kalacha. Unfortunately, Treasury was unable to allocate the required funds. The Ministry will continue to seek funding from Treasury and development partners to support construction of a hospital for Marsabit North."
