    "content": " Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for this opportunity to contribute to this Bill. It is a very important one. It was brought to the National Assembly so that the three laws that govern issues to do with landlords and tenants can be combined into one single law. The laws currently in operation are the Rent Restrictions Act, the Distress for Rent Act, and the Landlord and Tenant Act. The new law is intended to protect both the landlord and the tenant. Some of the highlights of this Bill have to do with rent payable, which shall be determined by mutual agreement between the landlord and the tenant.
