    "content": " Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for this opportunity to support this Motion on drought emergencies in our country. At the outset, I appreciate the President of Kenya, Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta, for declaring drought as a national disaster. It is really a national disaster because over 2.1 million Kenyans are suffering. Some figures put it at 2.7 million and 23 counties, which are more than half the counties in Kenya facing severe drought. Our livestock are dying in large numbers.
