    "content": " Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I wish to support the first Petition on animal feeds. It is very interesting in this country that as we stand now, we are unable to feed our people and now the people are unable to feed their animals. I think this is a very critical time. I urge the Departmental Committee on Agriculture and Livestock, which the Petition has been given to, will really dissect this matter properly and bring a report to the House. This is because it is not right that we say that agriculture is the mainstay of our economy and yet, we are shooting ourselves in the foot the way we are doing it. Even those of us who have decided to make our own animal feeds on the farm are finding it expensive because the ingredients have become too expensive. Many of us are abandoning that part of livestock farming. Hon. Speaker, I would like to urge you that you use your powers. When this Petition is ready, it should be tabled for a brief debate so that, at least, the Government can be woken up to realize there is a big problem in this country.
