    "content": "I congratulate the Chair of the Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning for having been brave to recommend the reduction of prices. But, more importantly, is the recommendation to reduce VAT from 8 to 4 per cent. Secondly, is the recommendation to reduce the petroleum levy. The only thing the Chair of Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning did not do is to tell Kenyans that in reducing VAT to 4 per cent, what the implication of that cost reduction will be. If the 4 per cent in monetised, how much does it translate to in times of the Kenya shillings? This is a conversation in the country.
