    "content": "Madam Deputy Speaker, I thank you for giving me this opportunity to condemn in the strongest terms the act that happened to Agnes Tirop. I take this opportunity on behalf of the people of Bomet to pass my condolences to the family. It is unfortunate that the life of Agnes Tirop has been nipped at the bud. She was a young talent who was murdered under very crazy circumstances and that may discourage other talents from taking up athletics. We have been looking for ways of encouraging our athletes to take up various challenges so as to make a contribution to our economy in terms of what they gain. Many of our athletes have been doing a lot for our country. As my colleagues have said, it is quite unfortunate that we hardly even recognize what our sportsmen and women do despite the fact that they fly our country’s flag high. Whenever our athletes are on the racing track, we all feel proud as Kenyans especially when they win or break world records. However, we end up ignoring our sportsmen and women after breaking the world records. We do not cater for their housing.
