(a) I am not aware that there was total crop failure in Kinna, Rapsu and Gafarsa Irrigation Schemes in Isiolo South Constituency due to the inappropriate seed variety supplied by the Ministry. But I am aware that in Kinna and Rapsu the rains were below average due to other production factors that are being addressed by the Ministry. (b) The Ministry has no plans to compensate farmers for crop losses due to natural calamities like drought. However, more seeds were sent to them for planting this planting season."
