    "content": "Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, on many of the evenings when the impeachment was going on, he would call members of his Democratic Party for dinner and tea at the White House, so as to influence them in voting for impeachment of Hon. Chase. Since the Senators were mindful of how important it was to have an independent Judiciary, they disagreed with their party boss and voted to reject the impeachment of Justice Samuel Chase. That went a long way in maintaining the independence of the Supreme Court and the entire judiciary in the United States of America."
