Temporary Deputy Chairlady, I beg to move: THAT, clause 17 of the Bill be amended— (a) in sub-clause (2) by deleting the words “fair rent” appearing immediately after the words “determine the” and substituting therefor the words “rent payable”; (b) in sub-clause (4) by deleting the words “fair rent” appearing immediately after the words “determine the” and substituting therefor the words “rent payable”. Our reasoning is very clear. We are deleting the term ‘fair rent’ in the clause and replacing it with the term ‘rent payable’ for purposes of clarity. I thank you."
