Temporary Deputy Chairlady, I beg to move: THAT, clause 19 of the Bill be amended in sub-clause (1)(a) by inserting the words “which shall be on the lapse of at least two months, in the case of residential premises, and three months in the case of business premises after the giving of notice”. Our reason is simple. It is to provide for a notice period of at least 60 days for a residential property, and 90 days for a commercial premise to reduce conflict with regard to termination of leases."
