Temporary Deputy Chairlady, I beg to move: THAT, Clause 46 of the Bill be amended— (a) in sub-clause (1) by inserting the words “except for” immediately after the words “the tenancy” appearing in paragraph (b); (b) inserting the following new sub-clause immediately after sub-clause (2)— “(3) A landlord shall provide a tenant with receipts for reasonable expenses incurred for repairing premises that the landlord proposes to deduct from any security deposit held.” There are two reasons or imports. One, is to insert the missing words for purposes of clarity in sub-clause (1). The second import is to require a landlord to provide copies of receipts to the tenant for reasonable expenses incurred for repairing the premises."
