"content": " Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I rise to comment on both petitions. The first is the one that you have read on behalf of the Petitioners. Surely, if people have lived on that land for more than 30 years and they are being evicted, it is unfair. The Government should protect the people. The other one is the issue of Kericho tea pickers. Yes, we want mechanisation, but also, as a country, we are signatories to the International Labour Organisation (ILO). We know what the world labour laws say. So, we should let the people earn a living so that we do not make them poor in their own country simply because we are chasing mechanisation.
