We must remember that the key words here are “proceeds of crime” and “anti-money laundering.” They have become a national security risk for this country. Furthermore, we are obliged to comply with regional treaties and the East African Protocols. This amendment is dangerous. Should we allow it, this Bill will fall flat on its face and we will not be able to engage in any kind of transactions going forward."
