Temporary Deputy Chairman, having listened to what you have just said on the petition for a health break, you are aware that we are here pursuant to a legal Gazette Notice that was published in the course of the week and it is clear in that Gazette Notice that we were to have two Sittings today. The Gazette Notice is clear that the first Sitting was to start at 10.00 a.m. and the afternoon Sitting… You are also aware that our Standing Orders are very explicit on the timings of our Sittings. Morning Sittings lapse at 1.00 p.m. and evening Sittings lapse at 7.00 p.m. I am aware that this is a Special Sitting. The drafter of the legal notice was aware that the Standing Order stipulates Sittings begin at 2.30 p.m. and end at 7.00 p.m. That is why he indicated that should there be need for a further evening sitting, there would be one. I am seeking your ruling and your guidance. The import of that Gazette Notice was that if there is to be an evening sitting, should there be need, there ought to have been a Procedural Motion extending time from 7.00 p.m further.
