Temporary Deputy Chairlady, I beg to move: That, Clause 21 of the Bill be amended in the proposed New Section 34C by inserting the following new subsections immediately after subsection (2) – “(3) The Registrar shall notify the political party of any change made to its records under subsection (1). (4) A political party that is dissatisfied by the decision of the Registrar under subsection (1) may appeal to the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal”. The essence of this amendment to proposed New Section 34C is to ensure conclusion of a process of changes being made and how they are notified to the political parties. The principal Act as well as this Bill gives certain obligations and powers to the Registrar of Political Parties to amend the register based on certain circumstances.
