    "content": " Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I thank the Mover for bringing this important Bill. This is a very important issue that affects us across the country. It is important that it is brought to the attention of the Government. I hope that this Bill will not take a lot of time on the Floor of the Senate. When we have an opportunity to make amendments, we will so that across the country those who retire do not suffer or be reduced to beggars. The reason is some of the officers at the National Treasury start asking for bribes. It is known. They want to be paid some little money to help process these pensions. I think it is important that we compel them to process it within a known time – 90 days but also carry the punishment further. It should not just be paying money on top of what ought to have been paid to the pensioner but also to punish the officers who waste our time and that of those who have served this country.
