Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move: THAT Clause 125 of the Bill be amended— (a) by deleting sub clause (1) and substituting therefor the following new sub clause— (1) In this Part— “guardian” means a person appointed by will or deed by a parent of a child or by an order of Court to assume parental responsibility over a child on the death of the parent of the child either alone or jointly with the surviving parent of the child, or the father of the child born out of wedlock in accordance with the provisions of this Act; “presumptive guardian” means a person or persons who are not parents or legal guardians of the child, but who ordinarily exercises care and control over the child singly or jointly with the spouse or one or both parents of the child The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
