Having experience of the previous Children Act and a lot of litigation generated by children’s law, in Clause 5, we are inserting the word “protection” after “wellbeing” and we know children’s rights are supreme. Ordinarily, the court’s interpretation is that they go with the best interests of the child. I think this amendment reinforces this, it is good and will help."
