"content": " Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady, the reason I support the amendment is because it deals with property. If it was about any other thing, we would leave the fine the way it is. But property has value. You may find that what a child is deprived of may be of a high value. If you leave the fine at Ksh500,000, people will be encouraged to squander children’s inheritance. One may sell property worth Ksh30 million only to be fined Ksh500,000. If we enhance it, the matter will be left to the discretion of a court to issue a fine as per the value of the property that has been lost. Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. I support."
