"content": "as a country, we have done well despite the fact that there is room for improvement. If you look at the statistics, you will realise that it is only about 1.5 million people who are disabled differently. This translates to less than 3 per cent of the total population in this country. However, if you look at the awareness level about disability in this country, you will realise that every Kenyan is aware about issues of disability. That is why I get very encouraged when I look at our own colleagues in this House who are enabled differently. I want to single out a few of them. Look at Hon. Dennitah Ghati, who is the Chair of the Network of People Living with Disabilities, Commonwealth Association. Look at what she has managed to do. Look at our own Hon. Janet Sitienei, who is the local chairperson of the Chapter of Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians in this country. Look at Hon. Rose Museo, the County Women Representative of Makueni and what she has done. Look at Hon. Tim Wanyonyi. These are very good cases demonstrating that all these colleagues of ours are enabled differently."
