"content": "Comparing the two lives, you find that life has changed completely. Learning from her, this particular Bill is a landmark Bill as far as I am concerned because in most of our societies, many of the persons living with disabilities are never brought to public limelight. Their families tend to hide them and protect them because they feel that they can easily be ridiculed. Some mothers will protect them to the extent that they will keep them in their houses. For that matter, if this Bill is passed, the Government will have the authority to seek out particularly young people living with disabilities, children and minors so that they can be accessed and provided with the necessary opportunities, be it in terms of healthcare or education, in order for them to also secure decent lives. The strength of Kenya as a nation will largely be reflected in the manner in which it will look after disadvantaged members of the society. In this particular case, the opportunity has arisen for the fundamental rights of disadvantaged members of our society to be considered as minorities in our midst who should be looked after. Hon. Speaker, I beg to support and thank you for giving me the opportunity."
