    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, as I lay this report, I would like to commend that the Petition came to the Senate. Hon. Senators will remember a Petition by Mr. Sagwe who wants chess to be part of the school curriculum as a core subject and funded by the Ministry of Education. Senators deliberated on the issue and made comments concerning the Petition. Mr. Speaker, Sir, in your wisdom, you ruled that the Petition be handled by the Committee on Education where I sit. We were first taken through the Petition as a committee then afterwards we engaged and invited the stakeholders so that we listen to them. We heard their noble desires. They said that had done research globally and they agreed that it was good to introduce chess in the curriculum. Mr. Speaker, Sir, in our committee, we engaged our research team lead by Ringera and they did a noble job. They did their research, which they also reported to us."
