Speaker, in the Financial Year 2021/22, the Third Phase of the Economic Stimulus Programme under implementation targeted; a) The “Kazi Mtaani” Programme to create employment for over 200,000 youths across the country; b) Preparation of the education sector for the transition into the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) by constructing new classrooms to accommodate more than one million pupils expected to join Junior secondary schools in January 2023; c) Construction of additional 50 New Level 3 Hospitals in non-covered and densely populated areas across the country to enhance access to medical services; d) Supporting livelihoods of farmers within the sugar belt; provision of fertiliser subsidy to small scale tea farmers; and completion of ongoing interventions in the coffee sub- sector; and, e) Supporting communities affected by drought in the arid and semi-arid regions of the country."
