Speaker, in order to support implementation of the county government own revenue policy, the National Treasury in collaboration with the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning, Council of Governors (CoG) and other stakeholders, I have developed the National Rating Bill 2022 to replace the outdated Valuation of Rating Act, Cap.266 and Cap.267. This Bill was submitted to this Parliament in January 2022, and once enacted will guide valuation for rating and imposition of rates on rateable property."
