Other than the definition that has been given, for you to be a community health worker, the people in that area must trust you, know that you have the necessary experience and are available when emergencies occur. Most of these community health workers assist in deliveries or give first-aid in cases of snake bites, probably using traditional methods. Therefore, they need to reside within the community because many times, they are called on during emergencies. I support the amendment by Dr. Nyikal."
