    "content": "Let me just remind Members that this Bill seeks to provide for the establishment of a legislative framework for the regulation of professionals in the insurance sector to enhance the standards of service in the sector; promote professionalism, and address concerns regarding professional misconduct in the insurance sector. The Insurance Institute of Kenya established in Part II of the Bill shall seek to discharge its functions listed in Clause 5 of the Bill as follows: a. Establish, monitor and promote standards of professional competence and practice amongst insurance professionals. b. Register persons who meet the required professional and ethical standards. c. Promote research into the areas of insurance practice and related matters, and also benchmark from other parts of the world. d. Publish books, periodicals, journals and articles on insurance practice and related matters. e. Advise the examinations board on matters relating to examinations standards and policies, and coordinate and oversee continuous training of insurance professionals, among others."
