Currently we have about 82 political parties that have been cleared to participate in the election and 87 that are registered. All the parties are 87. Therefore, if we pass this amendment of subjecting only political parties participating in elections to submit their financial records, then we must come up with another Clause in the law so that if you form a political party and it is not participating in any elections - as you know elections come and go - then you are not worth being a political party. Then we must come up with another clause in the law so that if you form a political party and it is not participating in any election; elections come and go and the party does not participate, then you are not worth being a political party. We must come up with a law where such political parties must be scrapped. What was the purpose of forming those political parties?"
