"content": "I rise pursuant to Standing Order No. 47(1) to make a Statement on the rampant cases of candidates who went missing on exam day. Forty-six KCPE candidates went missing from Embu County on exam day. Efforts by local authorities to trace them before the KCPE exams started proved futile. Embu County Director of Education, Mr. James Kairu, confirmed that the pupils were not found and, therefore, missed the national test. It was reported that the efforts of a multiagency team, including police and local government authorities to assist in locating the learners were futile.
