"content": "Thank you, Madam Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity. I also thank you for reading the Petition concerning maltreatment of ECDE teachers in Nyamira County. What is happening in Nyamira County is happening in many other counties. It is sad that ECDE, which has a salient role to play in the life of our children, is not given preference when it comes to the allocation of resources. We cannot take education matters for granted. Education matters a lot and we have to get it right from an early stage. You cannot plant a tree and when it comes from the soil bent, you imagine that one time it will straighten. Therefore, when it comes to matters education, it must be straight all the way from early childhood."
