"content": " Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I am an economist; I am not a lawyer. From the way the Mover has put it, the intent of the Bill is basically to strengthen the Supreme Court so that its functionality can be up to date. He made an observation that this has been done elsewhere. We should move with the rest of the world. We should not be in the third world. Technology is with us and we have to embrace it. As we have seen, during the COVID-19 period, which was very trying, most functions were done virtually. Therefore, it is for this House to embrace technology and pass this amendment Bill so that our Supreme Court can function properly. As it is, and from what I am told, we are still doing it the old way yet things are moving and technology is with us. With those remarks, I support the amendment Bill hoping that we will pass it in order to modernise the operations of the Supreme Court."
