    "content": "Madam Deputy Speaker, I rise pursuant to Standing Order 48(1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Devolution and Intergovernmental Relations regarding the conferment of municipality status to Ogembo Urban Area in Kisii County Government contrary to the Urban Areas and Cities Act of Kenya. In the Statement, the Committee should: (1) State the reasons detailing the criteria used in conferring municipality status to Ogembo Urban Area contrary to provisions of Section 9(3) of the Urban Areas and Cities Act, 2011. (2) State whether the relevant stakeholders, including public participation were involved in the approval process of giving Ogembo Urban Area a town status and whether the tabling of evidence has been undertaken.
