    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, as an Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Energy, I have to take note of what the Ministry is doing in relation to our targets and achievements. What the hon. Member is raising is a concern that there was a slight drop in the budget allocation to REA. This is a matter we are discussing between my Ministry and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Ministry of Finance, so that we iron out a few areas that actually occasioned the decrease. There is money that we were to be refunded by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA). We are working on modalities of getting the money back. However, we still note that rural electrification projects are going to continue. It is up to this House then to support us when we move to ensure that the Ministry of Energy and, especially REA, is allocated more funds. That way, we will proceed on to access electricity to the rest of Kenya."
