    "content": "Thank you, Madam Temporary Speaker. I request for a Statement on the welfare of village administrators commonly known as wazee wa mtaa and nyumba kumi elders. Madam Temporary Speaker, I rise Pursuant to Standing Order No. 48 (1), to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on National Security, Defence and Foreign Relations on the welfare of village administrators, wazee wa mtaa and nyumbakumi elders. In the Statement, the Committee should: (i) Clarify whether the Ministry of Interior and Co-ordination of National Government has in place a legal framework, for the operations and activities undertaken by village administrators or wazee wa mtaa and nyumba kumi elders across the country. (ii) State the total number of village administrators and nyumba kumi elders in the country, indicating their distribution across the counties, their stipend and payments as provided in the guidelines of Ministry of Interior and Co-ordination of National Government. (iii) Explain whether the Ministry has established a clear policy on the remuneration, allowances, salaries, including statutory deductions to National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) and National Social Security Fund (NSSF).
