"content": "As I had said earlier, during the short period that I was given by the people of Matungu to work for them as a Member of Parliament to replace the late Member of Parliament, I have done a lot in education. I took that time to give priority to education. That is a field that I felt that had not been attended to well by the previous regimes. Therefore, one of the major programmes is that I enhanced bursary distribution from 10 per cent to over 80 per cent. I introduced new education programmes like Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) programmes. Hon. Speaker, I took many children from their homes to colleges to get skills that will help them in future."
