    "content": "Hon. Members, the Communication that follows must be music to the Deputy Speaker’s ears. Hon. Members, the 16 days of activism against Gender Based Violence (GBV) is an annual campaign that begins on 25th November every year on the International Day for the elimination of violence against women and girls and runs through the International Human Rights Day commemorated on 10th December each year. Hon. Members, this year’s theme, “Unite activism to end violence against women and girls” will be commemorated globally and in Kenya. The focus will be to mobilise member states, civil society and women’s rights organisations, organisations working with men and boys, the United Nations system, the action coalition on gender-based violence, human rights defenders, private sector and individuals to stand in solidarity and call for a world free from violence against women and girls.
