Chairperson, I beg to move: That, the First Schedule to the Bill be amended in column B— (a) by deleting— (i) the expression “40,000,000” appearing in item 9 and substituting therefor the expression “32,600,000”; (ii) the expression “22,000,000 appearing in item 21 and substituting therefor the expression “32,600,000”; (iii) the expression “59, 000,000 appearing in item 35 and substituting therefor the expression “32,600,000”; (iv) the expression “42, 000,000 appearing in item 40 and substituting therefor the expression “32,600,000”; and, (b) by inserting the expression “32,600,000” in item 41. As articulated by the Chairperson of the Budget and Appropriations Committee, the amendment seeks to ensure Tharaka-Nithi County is one of the five counties that are supposed to benefit from the additional allocation for construction of county headquarters since it had been left out. The available resources of Ksh163 million will be divided across the five counties, so that Tharaka-Nithi can be part of those who will benefit. I thank you, Hon. Chairperson."
