"content": "I agree with the Members here that we need to join forces and make sure we all benefit from this project. Our land, about 28,000 hectares, was taken by LAPSSET project. They have subleased that land to Amu Power and none of those people have been compensated. It is only about 300 people who have been compensated. Instead of tackling the land historical injustice in the country, it is unfortunate that the National Land Commission is part of the increasing problems. I agree with the Members that we need to have a caucus that will articulate the issue of LAPSSET to ensure that it benefits everybody. There is a ship taking animals to other countries like Saudi Arabia and Oman. We have pastoralists who are part of this corridor and the question is; are they benefitting from that particular business? They have no clue that there is such a business going on. We need to include the people who are part of this project, for them to benefit. This is because even the tender of supplying water or cleaning in the LAPSSET comes from KPA."
