"content": "According to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, the number of registered vehicles has increased by a compound average growth of nine per cent between 2011 and 2019, rising from 1.6million in 2011 to 3.3million in 2019. These was largely driven by the autocycle and motor cars sub-sectors which accounted for 46 and 32 per cent respectively of all vehicles registered in 2019. That tells you the level at which our economy had moved. Instead of more commercial vehicles being registered, it is more of motorcycles that have been registered at 46 per cent as compared to 32 per cent of motor cars being private-use vehicles."
