This is where this entire discussion about whether Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) is the panacea to food security in this country cropping up. I am happy to hear Sen. Cherarkey, say that the President, in some private meeting with him, has assured the country that there will be a discussion on the move to lift the ban on GMOs before they are imported. I am a bit concerned because in my understanding, and we spoke about this yesterday, the Constitution requires that this discussion must be had prior to the decision to lift the ban."
