    "content": "Having explained the process and before the presiding officer commences the voting, I wish to report to the House that on 16th November 2022, the offices of the Returning Officers, namely, the two Clerks, received a letter from one Salim Mohammed Busaidi, a candidate under the Kenya Kwanza Alliance Coalition cluster, indicating his withdrawal from the election process. In accordance with Rule 11(1)(2) of the Rules, the deadline for withdrawal of candidacy was on Thursday, 10th November 2022 being a day after the nomination day. This may be reminiscent of recent events. In this regard, the presiding officers did not accept his withdrawal. Consequently, his name will continue to appear on the ballot paper not withstanding his intended withdrawal. The presiding officer shall ring the bell for 10 minutes and prepare the Chamber for voting. However, before he does that Members at the Bar should come in and take the nearest available seats. Hon. Keynan, where is the nearest available seat?"
