Members, I wish to bring to your attention the provisions of the East African Legislative Assembly Elections (Election of Members of the Assembly) Rules 2017; particularly Rule 19, which reads: “When the votes have been counted and the results of the elections have been ascertained, each presiding officer shall record the results of the tally and report to the respective House the results of the election together with the number of votes recorded for each candidate under each cluster at the end of the election exercise”. I hereby instruct the Clerk of the National Assembly to read the results of the vote from the National Assembly."
