    "content": " Thank you very much, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I join the previous Members who had contributed to this Motion in congratulating the National Assembly and the Senate for conducting successful elections. I also congratulate the eminent personalities, seated on the Speaker’s Row, who have won the election. Hon. Deputy Speaker, I have interacted with a good number of these Members out there. I am convinced they will carry the flag of this country high and deliver. Right now, there is a challenge because other than one Member, the rest are fresh men and women. They have a task to hit the ground running. The EALA is supposed to build our advantage as a country and major power house in this region. So, we can develop in a big way. In democracy everybody has a right to vote for as many people as he or she wants. It is your right to choose to vote for one person or all the nine. We should not constrict that space. There are many ways and methods of voting. I am very happy with the method used today. As for now, these Members should understand they do not represent their political parties or regions but represent this country. They are very well distributed - they are from west, south, north, centre, east and coast regions. This is a balanced composition in terms of gender, regional representation, faith and every sense of our unity and diversity. So, they represent our diversity and we expect to assert ourselves in this region. As the National Assembly we must support EALA. It should not become some kind of…"
