"content": " Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity. Let me congratulate all the nine Members. They are going there as Kenyans representing the interests of Kenya. However, the bigger interest that the people of the larger East Africa are looking at is an area where we all move and get services freely. The first election in the East African Community was in 1948 when it was known as the East African Central Legislative Assembly (EACLA) and not the East African Legislative Assembly. Of the 23 Members, only three were Africans and the rest were colonialists. In less than 12 years, they created a thriving community with the East African Railways and Harbours Corporation, the University of East Africa and the East African currency that is now the East African shilling. It was one unit. You could move from Mtwara to Gulu. We expect them to create a bigger unit so that we can move from Mombasa to Kinshasa and from Mtwara to Gulu, without being asked anything as it happened in those days. We shall have achieved a lot. Represent us but build a bigger community and a bigger market that makes Africa what it should be and not small and divided. With that, I once more congratulate all of you. Build a bigger future. Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker."
